Dixie Junior Livestock Show 2027

How the Sale Works

When you win an animal at the Dixie Junior Livestock Show, you tell the auctioneer which of four options you want. Each one is explained below by the two things that matter to you: what you pay and what you take home. Every option gives the kid their full winning bid.

Take the Animal Home

  • You pay: your full winning bid.
  • You take home: the live animal — remove it right after the show.

Send It to the Packer

  • You pay: your full winning bid, plus the processing fee at delivery.
  • You take home: the processed meat. Tell the auctioneer which packer you want.

Support the Kid

The most popular way to give a kid a big boost without taking home an animal.

  • You pay: less than your full bid — only the amount your bid is above the animal's market buyback price. The rest is covered for you.
  • You take home: nothing. You're supporting the kid, not buying meat.

Give to the Scholarship Fund

  • You pay: your full winning bid.
  • You take home: nothing. The animal is resold, and that resale money seeds scholarships for future exhibitors — so your dollars help twice.

Your name will be announced as a purchaser at the show, and posted on the show's Facebook page. Thank you for supporting Washington County youth livestock.
